First three days over

I hope you like this picture of the lovely teen. It was taken by my fabulous photographer sister in law Karen McGowran (see my blog list for her blog- brilliant wedding photographer based in the North East of England).
Anyway, while said son prepares for a four day trip to Germany next weekend ( Friday to Monday), I am recovering from my first three days of chemotherapy. I was glad I didn't get another allergic attack on the first day. Lots of drugs helped head that off at the pass.
It was a little bit nerve-wracking but I am still here. Feeling a bit worse for wear today, but glad the first cycle is over. I had a lovely day yesterday: lots of husband time. We had a coffee beside the lake in the warm sun, we had a drink at a local hotel overlooking the lake high up in the hills on their fabulous terrace ( Linthwaite House Hotel), we had a rustic picnic in the garden in the evening to finish it all off.
It was lovely. I intend to enjoy every second I can. I notice how much more I am paying attention to and enjoying.

It's so good that you have that "husband time" to enjoy the spring together, after the crazy winter weather and this new challenge. As dear Renee always said, "Together strong." We are all rooting for you!
Your teenager seems to get more handsome every month.

First of all...that is an outstanding photo of the son!!!
I am so glad you are getting through this and it seems with a smile on your face. I love that you are appreciating every little thing...we should all do this. I will try to channell your good thoughts and carry them with me...and channell some good prayers for you to continue on this well.

You have a handsome young man there - it is so clear how proud you are of him.

One down - five to go. Hang in there.

Hi - I've never visited you before but I came over from Daily Decadent. I hardly seem to read any English blogs (I'm in Lincolnshire. I do wish you well in your wrestle with another lot of chemo.

I am here via Decadent Housewife. And I am sending light and strength to you all from Connecticut. That handsome son is lucky to have such a wonderful role model for a mother...Blessings.

Praying for strength for you and your family! Your teen looks like a sweet and mature young man - I imagine the cancer has encouraged him to grow up quite quickly.

Glad the chemo went ok. You are so right to savour every moment. None of us know how long we have on this earth. We should all give up worrying about tiny little details and savour every single second.

wow - handsome lad! He'll have trouble with the girlies ;o)

Glad you're cracking on up there. It's silly how it takes something like this for us to really notice the good things. I really enjoy everything so much more nowadays.

Hope the next lot goes as well as the first has. It's better once you know what to expect I think. Not so nerve wracking.

Big hug!!
