technical advice needed

I would like to put a 'you tube' link up on my blog but I don't know how to do. I have tried, and as yet it hasn't worked.
Help fellow bloggers. And please give detailed instructions. I am technically challenged.

If I can get it to work- I promise you a treat.

Hello Jo - every vid on there has a little strip that says something about Embed or Embedded. Just c&p that little strip on to your post and it should come up with the screen when you go into Preview (and loads of lines on the copy page)

OK. I think this will work.

While the Youtube video is playing, right click on it. Choose 'copy embed html' from the drop-down menu.

Then, when you're writing the post, simply right click and choose 'paste' to paste in the code.

I've tried playing around with the height and width settings, but have never had much luck with that, so I wouldn't bother.

The word verification here is Cardif. You're not visiting Cardiff this week-end are you? That would be too spooky.

Good luck Jo.
I have only been able to do it via Windows Live for blogging.

When you watch a You Tube video it gives you two options - one to embed the video and one to link.
If you want to link - when you compose a posting in Blogger, you'll see a little earth sign with a link sign over it in the tool bar - click on that. A pop-up box will ask you for the URL - that's the link code you get from You Tube. You Tube will give you the http:// at the beginning so you need to delete it from the Blogger pop-up box before you paste.
To embed, go into the "edit html" code of your blog, rather than the "compose" version (html lets you see the raw code, compose lets you see the finished product) then just c&p the embed code from You Tube. You can switch between html and compose when you edit your posting. You can also re-size the video in the html version much easier. Good luck!

Is it possible just to cut and paste the web address into the text? I think I've done that before. Good luck! Miss you x

The easiest way I have done it is this:

Do a search for "Windows Live Writer" and download the application (free). Live Writer will let you write the blog in draft, embed the video from youtube MUCH MUCH MUCH easier, and do a few other things also. Then when you hit "publish", it will go straight to your blog.

The LiveWriter download will also come with MSN messenger and a few other things, but you can pick and choose what you want to download. I love love LOVE the Livewriter feature.

hi there just read a few of the comments, when you embed the code onto your post just change the height columns from 480 to 350 the video will then fit into your post perfectly, I only just worked out out to it properly too..
