A day in Hawkshead

I posted on Halloween that we had a day out at Hawkshead which is a lovely little village in the Lake District. Very popular place for tourists as the scenery is lovely, and the village is very quaint. There are loads of coffee shops, traditional pubs and gift shops. A good day was had by all. Picture of teenager, other half and our wonderful Australian exchange visitor.
If you look closely you will see teenager's sling- still suffering from his dislocation shoulder injury. No more rugby this season for him sadly.

Oh...I would love to visit this area. Sounds so great.
Hope your son is doing ok...it could have always been worse. I am sure he knows this.

ps. The shanking means the same thing here. It is referenced to people in prison that make knives out of anything they can. It is an inside joke here....we threaten to shank others. I know we are weird. but in a nice way. :)

another blast from the past, haven't been to Hawkshead in years. Dh had friends who owned a pub there many years ago. Can't remember its name though.

I'm thinking if you went back this week, they wouldn't be in such light clothes! It's got much colder now, and wetter, sadly.

I'm sure your guest has enjoyed staying in such a beautiful part of the country.
