Other half has hit the big 40 today and we are having the day offf. Hurray.
We are off to the Sharrow Bay - a wonderful hotel on Ullswater. Check out the link- I wish we were staying over. However, since we are off to Derby on Wednesday for work we thought a lunch would suit nicely. Apparently it is the first ever country house hotel.
It is always a lovely experience.
Here is a picture of a lovely plant on our window sill. I think it is a Christmas Cactus plant but stand to be corrected as I am not very green fingered. Favourite aunt? Are you reading ? B in Seattle are you there?

A belated Happy Birthday to your hubby. (BTW, it's my hubby's birthday today, too). I'm sorry that the weather has scuppered your plans for lunch, that hotel looks fabulous.
BTW, that plant looks like a Christmas Cactus to me. Very pretty when they bloom.

Sounds like a good ruse - telling husband you can't do lunch but wouldn't a night there be even nicer?!!
