I never thought it would be so hard. I knew I would miss teenager, but I didn't realise how much.
I have a had a couple of bad nights wondering what on earth I have done agreeing to this trip....
But then...
I hear what a wonderful time he is having. And it makes it all worth it. He is already a member of an Aussie rules football club. He has been on a school to Melbourne City. He has been cross country running, and has done athletics. He has seen kangaroos bouncing from a distance. He has been to a real Aussie rules football match in Melbourne. It sounds very exciting, and he has even fitted in a few days of school into all of this. Today we spoke on the phone. It was lovely to hear his voice.
It makes it worth it. I will keep busy....

AAhh! You know he'll be fine. You, on the other hand...?
Great post. Take care.
Yes, keep busy, Mom. He'll never regret that you sent him. And when he comes back, you won't either.
Thank goodness for phone, email & skype. You can do it - deep, relaxing breathing might help, as well as hearing how happy he is! God bless all of you.
It sounds like he is having a wonderful experience. I would keep myself busy too. You will miss him like mad, but it will be okay. A big hug
It's true, your blog is fabulous. But more importantly, so are you! Hope you're doing all right with teenager away. Sounds like you're holding up pretty well. Do keep busy! But not too busy to write... ;)
Sounds like he's having the time of his life. I've got a few years till mine are old enough to leave like that so reading your blog gives me palpitations! As mums have to let them go and be independent don't we? Like you said, keep busy ..
Oh! It sounds amazing, what an incredible experience for him. Hope you're holding up too - keeping busy is the only way isn't it. x D
