a big throw out

The scales ( unofficially) say that it won't be long until I hit the three stone lost mark. All of a sudden a whole new bunch of clothes are far too big, and are therefore heading for the charity recycle pile.

My friend M has kindly given me some clothes that she is now too skinny for and most of them now fit me, including some fab 'white company' jumpers and shirts with cashmere in them ( how fab is that??).

These new clothes and recent pleasant weather inspired me to get rid of/ pack up winter stuff. As soon as I have done that the temperature has crashed. I woke up to frost this morning. The winds have been howling, with a perishing wind chill factor. Why does that happen??

Anyway, I will shiver it out until the spring weather really does settle. I am not going backwards now. It is a great thrill to get into trousers that have never fitted, and tops which only a few months ago would have only been an 'if only'.

My body image is still such that I still gravitate to loose and floaty rather than fitted and tailored... but I am getting there. I can see a big difference. My rings and watch are now loose, and my shoes are down a half size ( you can lose weight off feet??).

I was looking at clothes yesterday by LK Bennett, Karen Millen and Fenn Wright Manson. Gorgeous summer dresses. I am a long way off these yet, but it's no longer the impossible dream.

Hello Jo
Congrats on getting as far as you have - lucky you also to have 'new' clothes to wear as well.
Had to laugh at the change in your weather as it had been cool here overnight and as soon as I put an extra balnket on the bed the temps went up again:)
Take care
Cathy

Well done. I am re-inspired by your success. I had to ask my mum for some of my 'fatter' clothes back the other day and was gutted. I need to get back into that dieting 'zone' and reading your post has brought back memories of how good I felt. Onwards & downwards (weight wise) from now on!

Oh, what a positive place to be. I'm working to erase some of my "large areas" as well. Still waiting for my pants to feel less snug in the waist.And...

Congratulations on your loss.
You may have to get your jewelry resized...or perhaps to charity too??? :)

Good on you!!!! When you lose weight it feels great doesn't it? I lost 40 lbs last year but gained it all back during my pregnancy. I'm getting straight back on Weight Watchers as it really works for me.
Congrats again!

It does take a while to get used to your new body. Five years ago I lost 12 stone and even now if I don't watch myself I head for the changing rooms with a size 20 plus. Crazy I know but I can't quite get use to the new me.

That's great news, Jo. Well done, I'm so proud of you. It's great that your friend donated all those fab clothes to the cause, it's gonna get expensive keep buying new outfits.

The weather has done the dirty on us too. After 2 weeks of warm weather, we had snow again on Sarurday. And I have a cold and feel like sh*te.

And just to keep you up to date, yesterday I hit the 4 week mark of not smoking. Yay! But I am gaining weight, which I really don't need. Oh hum.

Keep going girl!

When I lost the 30 pounds I needed to lose 5 years ago, my shoe size got smaller as well. I was surprised, too.

You are doing so great, Jo. And the nice new clothes will be such a pleasure to wear.

Take care!

I so agree with you about still mentally being 'loose and floaty'.
I am just the same but like you get a nice surprise when I choose something more fitted.
Congrats on your weightloss, you're going to feel so much better when the summer comes.
