It always surprises me why organisations who are supposedly offering a service to the customer will NOT sort things out which are clearly an inconvenience or a problem.
Recently. I went to a garage to the toilet and couldn't find the light. I hunted and hunted on the wall. Eventually, I went out to the counter and found a member of staff. I couldn't 'go' in the pitch dark and don't carry a torch for such problems in my handbag.
"Terribly sorry" I say sheepishly. " I can't find the light for the toilet"
" I will show you where it is" says the member of staff. She comes with me, points up to the ceiling where there is a small piece of string. " It's up there. No-one ever sees it, and we get disturbed about it a hundred times a day".
Bizarre. How about making the string longer? How about calling an electrician? How about putting a huge sign on the door such as:
FOR SOME BIZARRE REASON OUR LIGHT SWITCHES ON USING A TINY PIECE OF STRING HANGING FROM THE CEILING. PLEASE LOOK UP.
IF YOU ARE LESS THAN FIVE FOOT FIVE OR HAVE TROUBLE STANDING ON TIPTOES PLEASE SEE THE ASSISTANT
How about just sorting it out!
