Saturday night at Lakeland Jo's house

An ancient sacrificial ritual?
An out of control barbecue in zero temperatures?

It all becomes clear... a bin fire in the garden to burn some paperwork.
More fun than shredding and a lot quicker.
Other half and I are fond of a bin fire now and again- it appeals to the pyromaniac in both of us.
I am now about to settle down to a lovely fire in the lounge with a glass of wine.
It is still very chilly here in the Lakes.

Since the council have stopped taking shredded stuff...then it's absolutely the best way...nothing like a good old bonfire to clear the sinuses!

We're drinking a good red wine at the moment. Barbera d'Asti. Cheers!

All this wine drinking got me thirsty suddenly. But all I have is a nice pink wine. Oh, well, it'll do.

I burn all my papers as well. It's the best way to get rid of them. Hope it warms up in the Lakes. We have an arctic front moving in from Alaska by Monday and will be in the deep freeze for a few days next week. Brrr!

Hugs,

Renie

So funny. I thought you were cooking again..... :)
I still shred so I can recycle the paper...old habits are hard to break!!
My camp nick name was pyro. :)

We love a good bin fire now and again! That's the only way to get rid of old paperwork. And in this day and age of identity theft and such, well, maybe someone can reassemble shreds, but just try to reassemble ashes! Take that, thieves! Have another glass for me, and ignore the units, whatever they may be!

jo: i wondered about the kind of business you and your other half are in. it sounds like a 'cover' to me.
so now i've figured it out.
you're spies.
and you're burning all of the secrets.
i'll never tell.
:-))

we're not allowed to do that here in the city, there would be an uproar, but people do that in the countryside.........which reminds me, I must look at what properties have come up for sale this week, our dream home could be out there!!Gill in Canada

Thanks for stopping by. Happy New Year to you! Burning is good-don't have to worry about identity theft with burning.

Wishing you a wonderful new year filled with love and peace, joy and happiness!

Leslie

Clippy M- the Bourne series (books/films) and Mr and Mrs Smith were made in our honour.
We are now retired, but the SAS call us now and again if they need some special expertise...

I have a chimenea specifically for the same purpose. It also provides the perfect opportunity to sit round the fire watching the stars and drinking mulled wine :-)

We bury our shreddings in the compost heap. Would love to have a bin to burn in but Husband not keen.

What a great idea, Jo. Sometimes I find shredding quite therapeutic, but I have an absolute mountain of the stuff right now and I keep putting it off.

Oh, and cheers, make mine a large one. :-)
