We had a wonderful day on New Year's Day. We walked up to mum's in the freezing cold and I took my new Christmas present (Sony Cyber Shot) out to take some photos on the way. It was very beautiful.
This is a on a walk up a back road between Bowness ( where we live) and Windermere.
The lake ( Windermere) looked beautiful, but then it always does!
It is still very cold - it hit minus six on my way across the A66 to Darlington this morning.

Hi Jo,
Oh, your new camera takes great pictures! You live in a beautiful area indeed!
When you say "minus 6" is that Celsius or Fahrenheit? I'm only familiar with Fahrenheit, and a -6F would be just too darn cold to be outside for even a few minutes without getting a severe frost bite! Just curious.
Have a great day!

my sister was just up there at the same time. wouldn't it be funny if you walked past each other on the road? she stayed on sunny bec lane/road? in a b& b and my cousin, coincidentally, lives across the street.
Beautiful part of the world, one of my favourate places too!
Yikes, that's cold! We had temps like that just before Christmas, daytime highs of 21F (-6C), 0F (-17C) at night.
Your photos are lovely.
